Welcome from our Priests.

My dear beloved in Christ,

On behalf of all the members of Archangel Michael Coptic Orthodox Church, I would like to welcome you to our church website. We are an Orthodox parish that is focused on welcoming everyone with open arms and offering true christian love.  Welcome to your new home...

Our Coptic Orthodox church was established by St. Mark in Egypt nearly 2000 years ago. Our church is truly rich and beautiful in many ways from our sacramental services, our patristics (early Christian writers), our saints, and our traditions. We are passionate about  bringing this Orthodox faith to everyone in America.

We are also enthusiastic about serving our community and the people around us in every possible way.

With love in Christ,

Fr. Markos Hanna

Fr Jeremiah Said

ORTHODOXY

The term 'Orthodox' is of Greek origin. 'Ortho' means straight, and 'doxa' mean glorification. So, 'Orthodox' is straight praise/ teachings, followed by established traditions and beliefs, conforming to established 'doctrine'.

New visitors will find there are many new things to experience in a Coptic Orthodox Church service. Feel free to go at your own pace, ask any questions you want, and know you are most welcome to “come and see” (John 1:39).

In 1980 AD the church started with only eight (8) families. The late Fr. Antonious Henein dedicated his efforts and began holding services once a month on Saturdays in a Russian Orthodox Church in Oxnard. Almost all the priests visited and took turns serving in our beloved church.
